Materials Needed Ø 1 Shrinky Dinks for Ink Jet Printers (Item D600 6A) Ø 5 7 mm Oval Jump Rings Ø 1 1/4” Hole Punch (Item D842) Ø 1 Paint Pen - Permapaque Paint Marker, RED (Item SAKFINE) Ø 1 10” length of 1/4” ribbon Ø 1 12 mm Barrel Bead Ø Photo processing software Ø Ink Jet Printer—Canon, Lexmark or HP recommended Ø Scissors, Toaster Oven or Home Oven How to Make Step 1: Download and print the pattern. Pattern .DOCX Pattern .PDF Pattern .JPG Step 2: Choose a photo... using your photo processing software crop or resize the photo to 4 ¾” X 2 ¾”. (This is the dimension of the inside of the ornament area). Step 3: Lighten your chosen photo according to package instructions. Step 4: Using the Copy/Paste option on your computer’s software, copy your photo and paste it into the blank area of the card...resize if necessary. Step 5: Use your choice of text, and enter your message, caption, date or names in the retangle areas of the pattern provided. Step 6: NOTE—PLEASE READ PACKAGE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE PRINTING OR SHRINKING YOUR PROJECT. Print the images you have designed. Be sure to print on the coated side of the plastic. If you have the NEW Shrinky Dinks Ink Jet plastic that is coated on both sides...the pattern template provided is centered exactly so that you can be print on both sides of the same sheet to make a double sided ornament. Step 7: Cut out your images and punch holes where indicated. When cuttng your rectangle pieces, cut just inside the grey lines. Punch out all holes BEFORE baking. Step 8: Follow package instructions for shrinking and seal your project. (NEW Shrinky Dinks for Ink Jet printers does not require the additional step of sealing). Step 9: Use the paint pen to color the edges of the frame and the rectangle pieces. Step 10: Assemble using the jump rings (see photo). Loop the ribbon through the top hole and then insert both ends of the ribbon into the bead and slide the bead to the top of the ornament as shown. Additional Ideas… Scan wrapping paper, greeting cards, fabric or any printed image to make a frame of your own design. Use fancy edging scissors or corner punches to add detail to your ornament. Add stick on gems, glitter or gold or sliver paint pens to further embellish your Shrinky Dinks ornament. |
